She's no stranger to tough acting jobs but Uma Thurman looks seriously stretched by her latest real-life role.

Wearing a clingy top, eight months pregnant Uma, 42, had to take a breather while on a walk.

But luckily the actress â€" who played the glamorous catsuited assassin Beatrix Kiddo in the Kill Bill movies â€" trained her sights on a nearby ice-cream stand.

She then shared a joke with the vendor before shelling out for a cone from his stall beside New York’s Central Park.

The 6ft star â€" dating London-based banker Arpad Busson â€" is currently filming comedy Movie 43 in the city.

A passer-by said: “Uma looked like any regular fraught, working mum-to-be.

"She was wearing no make-up and was extremely casually dressed â€" a world away from most Hollywood leading ladies.

"The only reason people paid her any attention was because she is so heavily pregnant â€" otherwise she would have gone unnoticed.”

Uma, who has two children, recently said she wasn’t fazed by her sex symbol image.

She added: “I am old enough now to ignore it.”
