Simon Cowell hires planes to spell out cheeky birthday message over Las Vegas for Cheryl Cole's birthday

Birthday bitchiness has reached new heights thanks to Simon Cowell and an aerial sign writer.

The music supremo has been waiting since October to get revenge on Cheryl Cole after she reminded him of his age.

Naughty Chezza sent a plane to fly around his house in Los Angeles 52 times with a banner attached saying: “Simon Cowell is 52 today! Ha ha ha! Love Cheryl xoxo.”

She explained at the time: “He didn’t want anyone to know it was his birthday. A perfect opportunity for me.”

Now Si has got his own back on his “frenemy” by sending her a message as she celebrated her 29th birthday with Girls Aloud pals in Sin City .

His planes flew over the Encore hotel in Las Vegas writing the following 10-mile long greeting in vapour: “Cheryl - Congratulations you’re 30 next year! ha ha ha Love Simon x.”

Simon gets extra points, however, for using the very impressive Skytyping technique, where five planes emit a computer-controlled and, apparently, eco-friendly vapour in splodges that spell out a message, 10,000ft in the sky.

Everyone in a 15-mile radius saw it. He ALWAYS has to go one better, doesn’t he?

Cowell is supposed to have told friends he was mesmerised by Chezza and was desperate to get her into bed.

According to Tom Bower’s biography he confessed: “I felt like a mouse being played with by a beautiful cat.”

Si’s latest stunt is hardly like to win round the L’Oreal ad star, whose singing career has gone stratospheric since leaving The X Factor.

Chezza still doesn’t seem to have forgiven Si for her US X Factor sacking in 2011 but his cheeky sign did not seem to upset her too much.

Cheryl says she had the best birthday ever, pulling a spectacular 72-hour bender.

She wrote on Twitter: “#DearVegas you win!! I officially bow down .. It wasn’t a knock out i just took a graceful seat ! I came I saw YOU conquered #isaluteyou..”

Continuing with the #lols, she wrote: “#Vegas #3daysnosleeps #1body2minds #gohardorgohome #wheresmybed.”

After partying with will.i.am, drinking endless shots of Patron tequila, and go ing to see Calvin Harris DJ, Cheryl and pals Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh finally called it a night yesterday.

Presumably, she’s already plotting her next move...
