Cheryl Cole has revealed how her life flashed before her eyes after her private jet was left stranded on the runway by a terrifying lightning storm.
The Call My Name singer was about to take off from Frankfurt, Germany, during her tour, when "a bright massive flash of light" cracked down right outside the aircraft.
The X-Factor star admitted she feared it was all over.
"We were stuck in the plane and just sitting on the runway and a bright massive flash of light hit outside the aircraft.
"I said to my friend, 'That's lightning' - then it just didn't stop," Cheryl told The Sun.
"I was so scared that I thought, 'This is it. I've got an album to promote and I've got so much yet to do!'
"We had to stay put in the aircraft on the runway. They couldn't even take us back to the terminal.
"When we finally took off about an hour later I was terrified we'd be hit by lightning in the air."
The tough Geordie said she drew on her past achievements in a bid to stay calm for the rest of the flight.
She added: "I remembered I'd climbed Kilimanjaro, so took a bit of strength from that."
However, the threat of thunderstorms or turbulence didn't stop tough-cookie Cheryl from taking to the skies again this week.
She flew out to Las Vegas with her Girls Aloud bandmates to celebrate her 29th birthday in 'Sin City' and later jokingly tweeted about her hangover.
The pop beauty enjoyed a meal with friends, cocktails with pals Nicola Roberts and Kimberly Walsh and then toasted her birthday at XS nightclub.
quot;Who am I? Where am I?quot; Cheryl, Kimberley and Nicola do Vegas (the hangovers win)
She's back! After two dressed-down days, Cheryl glams up again. And we're happy about that Â
