A new Bomance? The Voice star Danny dumps girlfriend... adding to rumours he's with Bo Bruce

THE Voice coach Danny O’Donoghue has split from his girlfriend, fuelling rumours he is dating contestant Bo Bruce after working as her mentor.

The Script singer’s lover Irma Mali was a noticeable absentee from Saturday’s final.

The pair are said to be on a “break” â€" and sources close to runner-up Bo are convinced he is smitten with his 27-year-old protegee.

Viewers have speculated that Danny is head over heels in love with Bo â€" estranged daughter of the Earl of Cardigan â€" because of sizzling chemistry during Saturday’s duet.

The pair sang Read All About It with their faces nearly touching and the Irishman, 31, resting his hand on her hip.

At one point they looked as though they were about to kiss. 

Even host Holly Willoughby couldn’t resist commenting on the smouldering looks between the pair.

A show insider said: “He’s told people that he and Irma are ‘on a break’.

“No one knows if he and Bo are together for sure but the rumours are circulating like crazy.

“Everyone wants it to be true because we all love a romance and they seem so happy.”

Danny cried on the BBC1 show as he paid tribute to Bo, who he says represents anyone who’s been through troubled times.

As a teenager the finalist, who has never used her full title Lady Catherine Brudenell-Bruce, went to rehab after dabbling with drink and drugs.

One viewer wrote on a fan website: “I totally think that Irma should get lost cuz Bo and Danny are in the house.”

Another agreed: “I would love to see them together because they make me think of beautiful real romance, the kind of romance we all dream of.”

One added: “There’s definitely something going on there. Talk about sexual tension.”

On Saturday night’s show, Danny said: “I’m over the moon to have Bo as my finalist, she’s everything, absolutely everything.”

Bo, who came second to winner Leanne Mitchell in the final, responded: “This ­experience wouldn’t have been the same if I hadn’t had Danny.

From the word go, he had confidence in me. I get on very well with Danny, we have a lot in common.”

Later, blinking back tears, Danny referred to Bo’s mother, who is battling cancer. “There’s a lot on Bo’s plate with her mother, who’s incredibly sick.

“For her to give the performances she does... I take my hat off to her. She’s my inspiration.”

Some fans claimed to have spotted their love affair weeks ago, with one writing: “At least they can go public now.”

Danny and Lithuanian model Irma, 28, have been dating for four years.

She has a nine-year-old daughter from a previous relationship. Last night his spokesman said: “Danny and Bo are definitely just friends.”
