Joey Essex attacked after ‘armed robbers’ pose as TOWIE fans

Joey Essex has described an attack that saw two men pretending to be fans of The Only Way Is Essex, before turning violent on him and stealing his £10,000 watch.

The reality star also said that the muggers pulled a knife on him after he tried to get the Rolex back.

The incident happened yesterday in Hammersmith, London, as Joey was buying a parking ticket in a car park. We don’t know why we just wrote 'in a car park' â€" where else would you buy a parking ticket?

Joey reckoned the robbers spotted his car while he was cruising through west London

Explaining the theft in The Sun newspaper this morning, Joey said: “I got a knock on my car window asking if I was Joey Essex and if I would have my picture taken.

“We did the picture and when I put some money in the parking ticket machine, the geezers got hold of me and threw me over.

“It wasn’t until I got up that I realised they had nicked my watch and when I hit one of them back, he got out a knife.”

Joey reportedly added that the men recognised his flashy car from the ITV2 show and followed him into the car park.

We hope Sam gives Joey a huge cuddle this morning (and a new watch?)

 

Important police types are investigating the incident. A statement read: "Officers from the Robbery Squad at Hammersmith and Fulham are investigating the incident."

Yeah, we just said that.

Meanwhile, we can’t help but think it’s ironic that Joey can’t actually tell the time.

We’re seeing the Essex boy later on this afternoon at Brockwell lido (it’ll become clear later), so we’ll give him a nice face stroke to help him recover from his ordeal.
