YOU donât mess with Madonna... or her fans.
Concert-goers in Abu Dhabi were left furious after the great-gran of pop kept them waiting nearly two hours in 40C heat.
Playing her first Middle Eastern concert on Sunday, she was roundly booed after failing to show on stage at 9pm as billed.
Thousands at the Yas Island stadium were left sweltering after one of the water stands ran dry more than two hours before she finally came on stage at 10.40pm, while another stand was only dishing out warm water.
Fans who had paid between £88 and £408 for tickets took to Twitter to vent their rage, complaining of the prices, conditions, overcrowding and the starâs late appearance.
âMadonna going on stage 90 minutes late is rude and disrespectful to her fans, especially when people have work the next day,â wrote @FinancialUAE.
Another fan, tweeting as Meho_M, posted: âIâm about ready to pass out from exhaustion and the Madonna madness hasnât even started.â
Sarvnaz Geranpayeh said: âVIP package an absolute rip-off. Abu Dhabi seems to be a practise session for the real tour. Absolutely awful.â
And fed-up British fan Samantha Dancy tweeted before the show: âThe boos are only going to get louder. Itâs very sweaty out here.â
Controversially, Madge, 103, 53, finally appeared on stage bursting from a cathedral while chanting in Hebrew.
At one point, she flashed her bra and revealed the words âno fearâ written on her back, presumably an attempt to be provocative in the Islamic emirate.
Things went fairly smoothly after that, apart from one dropped mic, until Madge got down into the 22,000-strong crowd and handed over the mic so fans could sing along with Like A Prayer... and found no one knew the lyrics.
After several attempts, she snapped: âDoes anyone know the words to this song? This isnât working out!â and marched off stage after the song finished, refusing to reappear for an encore.
News of her latest sub-standard concert comes as Franceâs far-right National Front is threatening to sue the star if she uses a v ideo in her upcoming Paris concert showing party leader Marine Le Pen with a swastika on her forehead, as she did during her first gig in Israel.
Meanwhile, Flash Entertainment, which organised the Abu Dhabi shows, was busy removing negative comments from the firmâs Facebook page.
Flash also warned fans that the start time of last nightâs gig would be âno earlier than 10pmâ.
Madonna tickets: £408. Her abject humiliation: Priceless.
