Whether Rihanna’s stylist has resigned or a freak tornado has taken out every mirror in her apartment, the singer’s outfits have taken a very strange turn over the last few weeks. This is the first time she’s stepped out without an insane amount of flesh on display for a while, yet the whole outfit is bizarre.

Rihanna headed off to work (we’re not sure what this involves, probably counting her money or something) in New York, wearing an entirely red outfit. She looked as if she was part of a prison bowling team (that would be potentially quite dangerous with all the heavy balls), with red bits even on her shoes.

The singer didn’t look particularly happy (neither would we if we were dressed like a deflated strawberry) as she toyed with her phone outside her posh hotel, which may have something to do with her recent comments about her weight.

Despite being one of â€" if not the â€" sexiest stars in the world, Rihanna says that she doesn’t like her figure and hopes to put on more weight.

She told US magazine in an interview yesterday: “I'm a size 0 â€" and not happy about it. I went way too far. I prefer myself a bit chunkier. I want my old butt back!”

The singer added that she loved her stint on the big screen in Battleship and hopes to film more movies in the future.

She said: “I want to do two more movies before touring again next year. My schedule is crazy!”

It is â€" perhaps a rest is in order. Preferably one that doesn’t involve a drip and a hospital bed.
