A woman’s magazine traditionally has a beautiful female model striking a pose on the cover, based on the fact that women are going to buy the publication and will want to emulate said stunner and her (unattainable) life.

But we think a new dawn has broken and a brand new era is upon us with the age of the male cover star on a female mag… full stop… forever, especially if it’s David Beckham.

With his two toned and tattooed arms we’ve often imagined enveloping us, Becks holds the quiff of his hair back as he stares out with those piercing eyes that say ‘you’re mine and I’m coming to get you’ or something that makes us sound equally deluded.

Inside are another 11 delectable images of Becks, all as achingly lush as the last we’d imagine â€" we don’t know as we’ve only seen these two so far, which is just about all we can handle in one sitting to be honest.< /p>

David, who recently showed us he can play Beethoven with a football (true), has posed for the July issue of Elle magazine in celebration of the Olympics, but he also does some talking about his family too.

On the bundle of podgy baby love that is Harper he says: “It’s great. I love to bite her legs, or shoulders. It’s how a baby should be. She’s so beautiful. 

“There’s no more love for a daughter than there is a son, but it’s just different.  When they (boys) are kids you can roll them around and they fall to the sides and they pick themselves up and they’re fine.

“Whereas Harper, now, she hits herself just slightly and she cries.... I still think ‘Oh God, I can’t believe this, I’ve got a girl.” And to see the boys with her it’s incredible.  When they walk into the room, her little face lights up.”

Erm, can we just say that we like to bite babies too and never knew David shared our quirk! This means that if we had one with David, we could munch away all day on our love child! Oh to dream.
