"Sometimes you have to be a diva”: Jessie J says strong artists do what they believe in

Jessie J has insisted “sometimes you have to be a diva” after claims she is tough to work with.

And The Voice star, 24, admitted she once lost her temper with US record company bosses.

She told Grazia magazine: “The idea was Do It Like A Dude would debut in America but I knew I had to come out in Britain first.

"So I shouted to make them change their minds.

“Artists I admire â€" from Madonna to Whitney â€" have been called divas.

"If you’re strong, you do what you believe in. If you’re called a diva, so what?”

Jessie has been criticised for being demanding on set, but she insisted people had the wrong impression of her and there was “no champagne” backstage on her tour.

She also revealed she will change her image before her second album as she fears that she looks like a transvestite.
