Cheryl Cole will sing for the Queen at the Diamond Jubilee concert.
In a surprise move, the 28-year-old star will perform live in front of a global audience for the first time in more than 12 months.
Cheryl has not been named among the official stars of the show on June 4 but the Mirror understands she has agreed to appear.
She may even perform a duet with organiser Gary Barlow.
The pair were due to perform a duet for Children In Need in November last year, but it was cancelled when Cheryl fell ill.
A show source said: âThere are already huge names appearing on the bill but Cheryl is the cherry on top.
âShe is one of the biggest stars in Britain and will ensure young people tune into the concert.
âShe doesnât do many live appearances but when Gary asked her she couldnât turn him or the Queen down.
"She is promising a spectacular performance and I am sure the Princes will all be happy she is on the bill.â
Cheryl hinted about her concert appearance in a video online this week.
Speaking to Elle magazine in Cannes, she pointed at a Roberto Cavalli dress and said: âIt may come to the Jubilee.â
A source close to Cheryl added:âShe is excited and loves working with the Royal Family, so she canât wait to perform.
"No one is supposed to know she is on the bill so exactly what she is doing and singing is top secret.â
Cheryl is no stranger to royalty - and in a recent magazine interview she told how she dreamt that she had married Prince Harry.
She has recently worked with Prince Charles having launched her own charity alongside his Princes Trust foundation last year.
She has appeared at dinners with him and even offered herself as an auction prize to raise money for the Trust, which helps young people.
Cherylâs album A Million Lights is released on June 18.
