“It’s a subtle and delicate situation”: Britney Spears is really over-thinking the whole X Factor thing

Despite the number of times Britney Spears has got fed up with her role on the US X Factor judging panel and sauntered off to her dressing room mid-performance, it sounds like she’s taking her new job very seriously indeed.

Speaking in a new video interview for the show during the auditions in San Francisco this week, Britney said she likes to treat the acts very delicately. You know, when she’s not getting bored and wandering off.

She said: “I think I’m a fair judge, sometimes it’s hard because I know what they’ve been through.

“It’s a subtle and delicate situation when they’re young so you use constructive criticism and be there for them.”

Having apparently reacted angrily when her fans clamber on stage and sing her songs (not that one can really showcase one’s singing abilities with Born To Make You Happy or Stronger), Britney has earned a reputation as a tough judge

However, Britters reckons she’s nothing compared to ol’ Simey.

She said: “I don’t think I’m the toughest judge â€" Simon would have to be the toughest judge.

“I’m just looking for someone with spark and spunk and meant to do what they’re doing and it shows.”

Here’s to hoping Britney makes more sense when she’s talking on the telly in front of millions, eh?
