Zayn Malik is generally known as the beautiful member of One Direction who does all the high shouty bits in the background of their singles… not the member who encourages his fans to convert to Islam via the use of his neckwear.
Nonetheless, a political blogger in the States has accused the teenager of ‘pimping Islam’ to young women across the world to ‘try to convert them’.
Right-wing blogger Debbie Schlussel wrote that parents should keep their daughters away from Zayn during One Direction’s US tour, claiming that the Bradford boy is ‘dangerous’.
Earlier this month, Debbie wrote on her blog: ‘You probably don’t know that one of its members, Zayn Malik, is pimping Islam on your kids.
‘That’s in addition to his Arabic tattoos and frequent donning of the keffiyeh, the official garb of Islamic terrorism.’
She also wrote: ‘He knows the power he has over these mindless girls and is using that influence to preach the Islamic faith to them and try to convert them. It’s dangerous.’
Schlussel also claimed that Zayn had been chosen to join One Direction to be the ‘Islamic face’ of the band because ‘Islam sells in Britain’.
That’s complete rubbish â€" everyone knows Zayn was chosen to be in One Direction - who are spending some time apart right now - because of those shouty bits. He’s really good at them.
