“Spencer and I speak every day and I still love him”: Louise refuses to let The Bachelor interfere with her, er, relationship

When the third series of Made In Chelsea came to an end last month, Louise Thompson and Spencer Matthews had finally overcome all the drama and were a proper couple who hold hands and rub noses and stuff.

Fast forward a few weeks and, despite almost losing best mate Jamie Laing to win Louise’s heart, Spencer announces that the pair had split up, because they were “arguing about petty things”.

It then comes out that Spencer has decided to step back from Made In Chelsea to take part in Channel 5 reality show The Bachelor, which will see 24 women competing to become his girlfriend.

And what does Louise, 22, have to say about this? Well, naturally she’s still in love with Spencer, thinks all the girls on The Bachelor are losers and reckons she’ll have her man back once he’s returned from filming the show abroad.

Um, has she met Spencer? He’s going to be loving this!

But Louise told Reveal magazine: “We may not be together in a physical sense, but that’s only down to the fact that he isn’t allowed to see me when he’s filming. But we’re still speaking everyday and I still love him.

“Officially, we aren’t together, but I wont get with anyone else.”

When asked whether she is bothered that Spencer signed up to do the Channel 5 show, Louise shrugged that she would do “The Bachelorette if I got paid enough”. And despite the fact that the programme deliberately scouts out women who’ll be Spencer’s type, Louise doesn’t reckon any of the girls will be competition.

She said: “I ask Spencer what he’s been up to. I know he’s kissed some of them, but I think it’s unlikely he’ll fall in love with one of them. By the sounds of it, I don’t have much to worry about at all. I think a couple of them work in strip clubs.”

Speaking of feelings, how will Louise feel when Spencer chooses his favourite girl from the bunch?

She said: “God, I don’t know. That’s the way the show works and if he does end up with someone he really likes, then he’ll inevitably sleep with her. Then I’ll have to fully move on.”

Finally, Louise speaks some sense. It’s going to be one long summer for this little pocket rocket.
