Alex Reid has been snapped for the first time since Chantelle Houghton gave birth to his daughter, grinning at photographers outside their home in Essex.
In the pictures, which were taken this morning, Alex is seen greeting his parents at the front door… covered in a sheen of sweat.
Given that he had his special nose tape on (people have punched him in the face so frequently that Alex can’t exercise without physically strapping his nostrils open) and he’s not able to get to the gym right now, we can only assume that the reality star has been putting his daughter to good use as a free weight.
After the arrival of Chantelle’s glamorous looking mum Vivian, Alex nipped out to the car and did a special fist pump for the cameras. Either to illustrate that he’s proper toned after a sweaty workout or super chuffed that his daughter doesn’t look like a little alien.
Later on, Alex’s dad emerged from his son’s home, giving his own secret signal to the cameras â€" a double thumbs up (no doubt to illustrate that, phew, the baby looks more like Chantelle at this stage).
Chantelle gave birth to her daughter in the early hours of Sunday morning, with Alex announcing the news on Twitter. He wrote: ‘I'm delighted to announce the arrival of my beautiful baby daughter early this morning. Both mother and baby doing well… This really is the most amazing day ever for the 3 of us. Life isn't good,it's great. I love my girls so much. Happy ecstatic fathers day!’
The pair are yet to release the name of their little girl, but Chantelle spoke for the first time about how “beautiful†she is today.
She wrote in her new! magazine column: “I’m so happy and excited my baby is finally here! She’s so beautiful! In the days leading up to the birth, I had been waking up at 5.30am worrying about it â€" I was so frightened.â€
And what is Chantelle going to concentrate on now that she’s a new mum? Making sure she looks nice for visitors with some expensive new tops, of course.
She said: “I popped into Selfridges last week and bought a couple of tops and some make-up because I want to look nice for when people come to see the baby.
“I actually put a full face of make-up on before I went to the hospital to give birth â€" I had to have my armour on so that I was ready for battle!â€
It’s a shame Alex isn’t so concerned about his appearance now that they’re having lots of visitors at home. Less sweating, more fist pumping (preferably on stage like this) please.
